Scentsy Story
I have always loved scents that spark memories. Those certain smells bring images to your mind of family, friends, or events. Scentsy is a way I can have those memories any time I want!
I have purchased and enjoyed Scentsy for years and years, almost since they began in 2004.
I purchased my first warmer from a fellow teacher, Jamie Trussell (now my sponsor), in 2008, and it’s been a love affair ever since!
I kept ordering Scentsy from her until my husband’s job took us to Germany in 2012, but at that time, I stored my warmers away with my American 110 voltage items until our return in 2014. We moved back to Texas to the same city, so, back to ordering Scentsy from Jamie! We moved away from the Bandera area in 2016, and I could continue ordering from Jamie through the website.
Very convenient!
But here we go again - back to Germany in 2019. I knew I could convert US lamps with power converters to German 220 volts if you switched to 220 volt bulbs! Who Hoo! I thought I could use my US Scentsy warmers in Europe! But there were two problems with this plan!
1. The bulbs were not the same size screw-in base
2. It was crazy expensive to ship Scentsy orders from the US
Enter Julia Montgomery, a Scentsy consultant from Trier, Germany. She was very helpful in trying to send bulbs that would retrofit my US warmers, to no avail. All Scentsy warmers are designed to work with the intended voltage of specific countries!!! So I purchased a few German voltage warmers and was back on track with my Scentsy journey! During the pandemic, I started watching YouTube videos about Scentsy, and I’m proud to say I’m now a Scentsy addict!!
I still had my account with Jamie back in Texas and ordered things for my family in the states through her! I was purchasing Scentsy on both sides of The Pond.
Everyone that knew me asked if I was a consultant. Of course, I wasn’t back then. They would say, “Wow! But you know so much about Scentsy!” I thought it would be too much work or I didn’t want another job! Oh, how wrong I was! It isn’t much different than ordering things for myself, and I could have been saving money all these years by being a consultant! To paraphrase Maya Angelou, “Now that I know better, I will do better!”
And now I love helping others enjoy Scentsy and showing them it’s so much more than wax!!!
